SUMMARY Elements of the cerebral vascular system of the rat have been prepared by simultaneous perfusion with fibrinogen and thrombin. The resulting fibrin fills and serves to support the vessels which can then easily be excised from the brain and prepared for light and electron microscopy. The structure and ultrastructure of cerebral blood vessels is well preserved by this technique.
