SUMMARY This paper describes the structure of the austenite/ferrite interface in a duplex alloy steel. Specifically, it is shown that a single periodic set of dislocations exists in this interface. This dislocation array can act as a diffraction grating, and the extra reflections observed in selected area diffraction patterns are shown to be consistent with the dislocation structure observed in the image mode.
