SUMMARY A new freeze‐etch unit is described in which one can make replicas where hydrated, frozen, fractured specimens rotate during specimen heavy metal shadowing. The freeze‐etch unit can also be used to do low temperature freeze‐fracturing and conventional freeze‐etching.
