SUMMARY The process of glycerination of Amoeba proteus was observed under the holographic microscope with coherent noise elimination. It was found that during glycerination redistribution of cell material occurs, and is accompanied by reversible deformation of the cell cortex. The role of the cortex in shape maintenance in glycerinated models was demonstrated.
