SUMMARY Many reactions are known for converting developed silver images into chemical forms containing a wide variety of elements. By application of this principle to step‐wedge images and by use of labelled reagents, multi‐level flat sources for autoradiographic calibration can be made simply. Detailed procedures have already been published for the use of 131 I, 110 Ag, and 60 Co, and the method can probably be extended to other radionuclides.
