Problems associated with particulate contamination of cell cultures with relation to ultra‐thin sectioning techniques

SUMMARY Hard foreign particles encountered in centrifuged pellets of cell cultures and other biological material can interfere with ultra‐thin sectioning. Factors which influence the presence of this contamination are considered and a technique is recommended for cell cultures which overcomes these difficulties.
