Summary A method and equipment are described which allows vascular‐perfusion fixation for electron microscopy under controlled pressure conditions. Hydrostatic pressure can be kept constant during fixation by automatic adjustment of the flow rate of a peristaltic pump which is governed by a fully automatic remote‐control device. Colloid osmotic pressure of the perfusates must also be adjusted to assure adequate balance of the pressures in the tissue at physiological levels.
