SYNOPSIS A technique is described for the storage of biological materials in air tight sachets made from a new aluminium‐polythene laminate. Tissues containing highly mobile soluble radioactive material have been stored for periods up to six months in these sachets which are stored in a liquid nitrogen refrigerator. This method of storage preserves the tissues in such a way as to prevent ice crystal damage, and also prevents cross‐contamination of radioactive material which would result from contact between radioactive specimens.
