SYNOPSIS Immunofluorescence is an ingenious method in histochemical research as it is possible to solve problems which are impossible to approach with other methods. Everyone using this method must be aware that immunohistochemistry is a field still developing and full of weeds and thorns. In particular, one must be aware that the method consumes a great amount of time when all the factors involved are taken into account. An uncritical use of this method will not only give wrong results but also bring it into discredit.
