SYNOPSIS A brief survey of the characteristics of reflecting microscopes is given, with particular reference to the Burch microscope. Accessory optical equipment for photomicrography with this microscope in the visible and ultra‐violet is described, and the adjustment of the objective and condenser mirror pairs is discussed. Some typical photomicrographs are shown.
