. We highlight the case of a 35‐year‐old male who suffered a respiratory arrest as a result of methaemo‐globinaemia secondary to skin contamination and inhalation of petrol octane booster following a road traffic accident. It is important that petrol octane booster is stored safely in leak‐proof containers and that suitable warnings are displayed to alert the user of potential toxicity.
