A Jewish boy with haemolytic anaemia has been studied. His father and probably also his paternal grandfather had haemolytic anaemia. The haemolysis could be assigned to haemoglobin Köln, which constituted a part of the boy's haemoglobin. This haemoglobinopathy has not hitherto been reported in a Jewish family.
