. Common carp, Cyprinus carpio L., were experimentally infected with cloned Trypanoplasma borreli and some haematological data were determined. The haematocrit and total erythrocyte counts were reduced and were lowest at day 29 post‐inoculation during the peak of infection. Differential erythrocyte number showed a reduction in mature erythrocytes and an increase in immature erythrocytes. The total leucocyte number was markedly increased and peaked at day 44 post‐inoculation. Differential blood cell counts showed an increased abundance of leucocytes, especially granuloblasts and granulocytes.
