Summary Eighty‐four medical students have answered a questionaire about the therapeutic image of four benzodiazepines and two antibiotics. Results differ from those expected on the basis of clinical trials. Some therapeutic traditions have a strong influence on the practice of medicine, and this influence is already noticeable in medical school.
