Natural mixtures of bacterial menaquinones were separated according to the length and degree of hydrogenation of the polyisoprenoid side‐chain using reverse‐phase high‐performance liquid chromatography. The chromatographic system described affords a sensitive and rapid means of menaquinone characterization.
