Menaquinones with seven isoprene units were the major isoprenoid quinones detected in the chloroform‐methanol extracts of representative strains of the genera Bacillus and Sporolactobacillus. Neither menaquinones nor ubiquinones were detected in similar extracts of strains of the genus Lactobacillus.
