The microbial flora of the thigh adjacent to the vaginal labia and of the mucosal surface of the labia has been examined qualitatively in a group of young women attending a family planning clinic. There were no differences in flora relating to either the type of contraceptive used or to the frequency of use of intimate hygiene deodorants.
