Pediococcus acidilactici NCIB * 6990 is highly suitable for microbiological assay of pantothenic acid using an agar diffusion method. This bacterium exhibits a high degree of accuracy at much lower pantothenic acid concentrations than Lactobacillus plantarum , † which is commonly used for assaying this vitamin.
