SUMMARY The nutritional requirements of 12 strains of coryneform bacteria were examined. Specific vitamin requirements were determined for 7 strains but the remaining 5 strains did not grow in any of the defined media used. Four strains showed vitamin requirement patterns which have not previously been reported for coryneform bacteria. These patterns were biotin + pyridoxal; thiamine + pyridoxal; thiamine + riboflavin + vitamin B 12 (stimulatory); and biotin + thiamine + pantothenate + riboflavin.
