SUMMARY Protein crystal toxins from 93 isolates of the Bacillus thuringiensis group of organisms were digested with proteases from the gut of larvae of Pieris brassicae. An antigenic analysis was made of these digests and the results compared with the previously determined antigenic patterns of solutions of the crystals. Digestion led to the loss of some antigens and occasionally to the gain of others. Fewer distinctive antigenic patterns were found in the digests than in the crystal solutions.
