S ummary : A study has been made of the pathogenicity of Aeromonas liquefaciens, Aer. hydrophila, Aer. punctata, Pseudomonas putida and Ps. fluorescens to freshwater fish, and a description of the symptoms produced by each one of these organisms is given. By means of in vitro and in vivo studies, it was shown that Kanamycin is an effective therapeutic agent in the control and treatment of bacterial fish diseases caused by these organisms.
