The relevance of philosophy to education is discussed from three aspects. The first concerns the nature of philosophy; the second concerns the nature of education; and the third concerns the nature of the curriculum. These aspects are then followed by an example from the practice of education. The paper ends by outlining some criticisms and conclusions about the relevance of philosophy to education.
