About 60% of the protein in cottonseed flour is storage protein. The molecular weights of the major polypeptides that make up the SP fraction were estimated by electrophoresis. Two methods of sodium dodecyl sulfate‐polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS‐PAGE) were used. At least 11 polypeptides are detectable and range from 57,560‐6,100 daltons.
