SUMMARY Samples of genuine Israel lemon oil were examined by the usual standard methods and by gas‐liquid chromatography. The variations obtained are discussed, and were evaluated statistically. Chi‐square equations were computed for the evaluation of samples of doubtful origin. Sophisticated adulterations of the other of 10% were clearly detectable .
