Pulmonary blastemas and carcinosarcomas are uncommon tumours, accounting for less than 1% of all lung neoplasms. Three previously described mixed epithelial and mesenchymal tumours having both adult and embryonal elements were termed ‘transitional’. We report a similar case and evaluate the application of the term ‘transitional tumour’.
