A rapid cytological method for the diagnosis of surgical pathology specimens is reported. This procedure consists of a scrape of the tissue and an imprint of the cells and has therefore been termed the ‘Scrimp’ technique. It is simple, inexpensive and accurate and is of value in routine surgical pathology in the separation of benign and malignant lesions and particularly in the determination of the adequacy of surgical excision of skin tumours.
