An expression which is optimum with respect to the simplicity of the numerical computations is obtained for the magnetic field of a polyhedron with constant magnetization. The high accuracy of the results is illustrated using a realistic numerical model. The existence of the magnetic field at points inside the source and on its boundary is discussed and related to real magnetic data modelling.
