A bstract Calculation of reflection seismograms in the frequency domain makes it possible to treat absorption correctly, i.e. makes it possible to include dispersion (= causality) and frequency dependent reflection coefficients. In the paper it is shown how such a calculation can be done in a reasonably efficient manner.
