A bstract Gravity profiles can be computed by summing flux lines uniformly radiating from source elements within a density distribution. Digital computations are performed efficiently, irregular density distributions modeled, and alterations easily made to the model to alter the profile by recomputation of only the altered elements. The concept applies to both two‐ and three‐dimensional models and the corresponding datum plane contours. Two‐dimensional computations are described and illustrated.
