New clinical strategies and innovative approaches to the use of mitoxantrone include high‐dose treatment, new combinations such as 5‐fluorouracil with leucovorin (NFL), and neoadjuvant therapy for metastatic and primary breast cancer. Its use in other malignancies such as acute leukaemia and low‐grade non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma are also areas of significant development.
