Two strains of a species of Colletotrichum were obtained from infected olives in India. Their morphological characteristics and pathogenicity to various fruits were compared with those of isolates of C. acutatum, C. gloeosporioides , and C. musae. Despite their morphological variability, the two isolates were referred to C. gloeosporioides , the anamorph of Glomerella cingulata. For one isolate, the presence of ascocarps was recorded in culture.
