A network (AGRONET) is being established in Finland. Its purpose is to connect farmers, food industry, advisory service, agricultural and environmental research and administration. Services including plant protection advisory services will be reached through the network. They utilize data base, expert system and CIS techniques. A description of an expert system for weed control is given.
