A simplified method of mass rearing Phytoseiulus persimilis is described. Modifications have been introduced in the ways of supplying food, creating better shelter possibilities, removal and transportation, as well as the application to glasshouse crops. The method of continuous application of P. persimilis to crops is compared with the ‘pest in first’ and ‘natural infestation’ methods of controlling Tetranychus urticae . The continuous method has proved the most satisfactory under the conditions of Czechoslovakia.
