The APE80 charged rotary atomiser, and its larger, JUMBO, counterpart, both developed at Rothamsted, are briefly described. Recent design modifications allow control of the trajectory and subsequent distribution of the spray. Some field results illustrate the increase in deposition obtained with charged sprays and the effect on spray penetration.
