Sticky glass cylinders, microscope slides under rainshields, funnels and a liquid impinger were evaluated as samplers for spores of the splash‐dispersed fungus. Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides. Weekly spore counts for slides, funnels and the impinger showed a similar seasonal pattern. Funnels, as the largest samplers, generally collected most spores but the impinger collected more spores per unit area of sampling surface. Slides sometimes collected spores when other samplers did not.
