The commonest and most important species of Aelia in Turkey is A. rostrata. It is a primary pest, especially in Central Anatolia. Two other species, namely A. acuminate and A. syriaca , are secondary pests which damage wheat to some extent. The other species so far known from Turkey are of minor importance.
