The paper describes some of the research currently in progress on insects, mites and fungi injurious to stored products, how problems are identified and how the results are put into practice. The research includes surveys in warehouses, farms, etc.; laboratory studies of biology under controlled conditions; storage of grain under various conditions; studies of the effects of contact insecticides, with special reference to resistance; fumigation, and the investigation of insect behaviour in relation to existing and novel control methods.
