For the Agricultural Aviation Section of the Yugoslav Air Company JAT, economic considerations have been the main reason for introducing low volume and ultra‐low volume pesticide applications into practice. Their planes have been fitted with « micronair » and « turbair » rotary equipment. The ULV techniques have been developed recently and will be applied as of 1970 in agriculture (sugar beet noctuids, Bothynoderes [ Cleonus ] punctiventris Germ., aphids, Eurygaster, Lema ), in forests ( Lymantria , etc.) and in mosquito control. LV applications of fungicides mainly concern vineyards (downy mildew), sugar beets ( Cercospora ) and arboriculture.
