Discarded fruit husks which catch rain water provide transitory yet nourishing habitats for larval mosquitoes. In this report we describe maternal care of eggs and how husk fluid and shape influence oviposition of a neotropical mosquito, Trichoprosopon digitatum (Ron‐dani), in cacao.
