mycobacterial infections. In addition, the prevalence of M. bovis ssp. caprae seems to be quite low. In some studies, direct contact with the animals and nonpasteurized milk products from dairy cattle was suspected in cases of LV caused by M. bovis ssp. caprae. Our patient had lived in a rural area for some time and had been in direct contact with dairy cattle. In conclusion, we report a case of LV caused by M. bovis ssp. caprae, which was treated with a quadruple treatment (isoniazid, pyrazinamide, ethambutol and rifampicin) as previously described, and excellent results were achieved.
