Summary We describe a tuberculin test (PPD) negative patient with a chronic cutaneous lesion with histological features resembling sareoidosis, in whom M. tuberculosis complex DNA was detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded tissue by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification. The lesion cleared with antituberculous treatment.
