Summary A case of an elderly man with a large facial ulcer is reported. The diagnosis of Wegener's granulomatosis was made at post‐mortem when evidence of a granulomatous vasculitis was found in both the skin and lungs. This case serves to illustrate the difficulty in making the diagnosis of Wegener's granulomatosis, especially when it presents in its‘limited’form.
