Summary A case of haemorrhagic pompholyx due to bullous pemphigoid (BP) is described which was refractory to low‐dose prednisolone therapy hut cleared on a higher dose. The diagnostic value of haemorrhagic pompholyx occurring in an elderly patient and the variable dose of oral prednisolone required for adequate control of BP are discussed.
