Summary A patient is described with D‐penicillamine induced dermopathy, after prolonged high‐dose therapy for Wilson's disease. The clinical features consisted of increased skin fragility and haemorrhage with milia formation over bony prominences. Histologically, there were epidermal inclusion cysts and in the dermis extravasated erythrocytes and homogeneous eosinophilic material containing abnormal elastin. The skin changes improved when the dose of the drug was reduced. Other unwanted cutaneous manifestations of D‐pencillaminc therapy are briefly reviewed.
