Summary Allergic pigmented contact dermatitis from ‘kumkum’ is described in three Indian females. ‘Kumkum’ are coloured cosmetics frequently applied to the mid‐forehead by Hindu women. Brilliant Lake Red R, Sudan I and aminoazobenzene were probably the contact allergens in one patient and canaga oil the contact allergen in another.
