Summary Combined short contact crude coal tar (CCT) and dithranol therapy for chronic plaque psoriasis were compared with dithranol therapy alone in a single‐blind paired comparison study. There was no significant difference between the two treatments. The combination of 30% CCT for 1 h and dithranol for 23 h, for treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis, is not advocated.
