Summary The inflammatory dose‐response of the skin to topical anthralin was measured in patients with psoriasis, and compared with the response in a group consisting of normal subjects and patients with unrelated skin diseases. Wide individual variation was demonstrated but there was no significant difference between individuals with and without psoriasis nor was there any significant association with age, sex, skin type and original thickness or cigarette smoking.
