Summary Benoxaprofen (Opren, Dista) is a non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory drug which has been reported to cause photosensitivity, onycholysis, gastrointestinal ulceration and haemorrhage (Mikulaschek, 1980), and more recently Stevens‐Johnson syndrome (Taylor, GorT & Hindson, 1981). A patient who developed thrombocytopenic purpura, toxic epidermal necrolysis and leucopenia after only 9 days treatment is described.
