Summary Epidermal growth factor (EGF) has been applied daily to 6 mm diameter circular epidermal wounds in otherwise healthy adult volunteers, in dosage 5 /ug in O'T ml. Using complete closure of the wounds as an end‐point, no evidence of enhancement of epidermal growth at EGF‐treated sites was evident.
