Summary A family is described who had the typical skin lesions of epithelioma adenoides cysticum on the face and trunk together with ungual fibromas identical to those seen in tuberose sclerosis. No member of the family had any other symptoms or signs to suggest that the diagnosis was in fact tuberose sclerosis. The facial lesions of epithelioma adenoides cysticum and the adenoma sebaceum of tuberose sclerosis may be almost identical, but the age of onset and histopathological features will distinguish between them.
